My 25 things

In no particular order:

1) I love chocolate

2) I still have a Christmas wreath hanging on my mantel.  (hey, I’ve been busy)

3) My birthday is 3/3

4) I love to watch old movies on TCM. (mostly on the weekends)

5) I’ll be 55 in just a few weeks.

6) I once did a 40 things list, and I could only think of a few things. One was to lose 10 pounds (nope) Stick to a budget (check) See the Rocky Mountains (check)

7) I’ve lived in the same house for the last 36 years, except for 7 months 7 years ago.

8) My cell phone did an update last week that almost sent me over the edge. All of my information was still there, but all the pages and screens were changed. I had to clear out all the pages and start over from scratch, adding all of my frequent contacts and apps back in.

9) My most frequent contacts?  No surprise-Jamie, Rose, my sister Jo, Cousin Terry, friend Regina, niece Missy, nephew Bubba

10) Spring is my favorite time of year!

11) because I love daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths—they are a true sign of Spring.

12) My beverage of choice? Coca Cola

13) I do not like to dance in public, but you can see me shake my bootie in the kitchen as I listen to

14)  my favorite music.  Country legends.  I have always love country music, and these days I seem addicted to the classics of old!

15) I graduated high school, but I never went to college. It’s something I never wanted to do and have never regretted it . . . .

16) however, ever since jamie was a small child, we always said “when jamie goes to college”  never IF

17) Jamie can tell you that I am obsessed with the weather forecast and the PRICE of gas!

18)  I love to play cards and games with my friends that I fondly refer to as “the sisters”.

19)  I love my family, my immediate family and all my extended family—cousins and aunts!

20)  I do not like to read books. In a recent interview I was asked what was the best (last) book I read.  I totally ignored the question. THE last book I remember reading?  The Bridges of Madison County—in one session laying on the couch bawling my eyes out.  I guess it scarred me for life.

21) I do not drink alcohol.  Not because I’m against it, I just don’t like the way it tastes.

22)  My sister and I were raised by a very poor single mother. We lived with our Nana & Grandad for many years. I blame that lifestyle for my pickiness in eating. We never ate out, therefore . . . are you ready for this?

23)  I don’t like pizza.

24)  I fondly remember sunning myself in my 20’s, learning to appreciate nature and my love of watching birds.

25)  I’ve always thought that someday I’d be rich.

Well, there ya have it!  A bunch of random stuff, more than you probably ever wanted/needed to know about me.  It was not near as hard to think of 25 random things as I thought it would be.

I loved your list. It's amazing what you can learn about a person when she writes a list like this. We have much in common -- exact same age, spring, country music & family and some things not in common -- pizza & reading!

I love reading these lists. I always thought (hoped) I would be rich too. I have come to the conclusion that it is not going to happen...
oh well.
Have a great weekend!

I loved reading your list!
My brother has the same birthday, and I also love chocolate, don't drink alcohol and am obsessed with the price of gas. Which is an outrage.
But I'm sorry, I'm kind of hung up on the pizza thing! Not even homemade pizza?

Loved your list. I love finding out random things about people! I always find them difficult to write about myself.

What fun to learn more about you! I just turned 55. I've always appreciated each milestone, but I think I might want to stop counting now! And I think I could change your mind about pizza. It's all about a great crispy crust and interesting toppings!

Thanks for sharing Gail, you are truly interesting. Some thing we have in common, other not so much (love my books and our homemade pizza ;o)).
Have a wonderful weekend (we are expecting another snowstorm),

LOL - I don't like pizza either!!!! & I also did the same thing with the Bridges of Madison County, one day read & cried my eyes out. Love classic movies too, someday we should compare notes.

Love it Gail! Hang in there, we're all going to be rich someday soon... :)

What a great list. I would think it took some time to think of all those things. I wish I had lived in the same house for 33 years. (We have moved often due to my husband's work.) I have always danced in the kitchen, but I will dance in public too. There are very few os us kitchen dancers I've learned. I thought everyone did it.

Had to laugh at your list--my birthday is 3/2 and I'm 58 this year! I don't suppose you were born in Oklahoma? We March babies are kind of weird, ya know, but in afun way!

SO fun to read about you! i also love to watch old movies on tcm!!! i love the classics. i took a literature and film class in college and it was a favorite- one of my all time fave movies came from that class- double indemnity. and i still believe that someday i will be rich! ;) i just may be too old to enjoy it at the time i guess.... and i am rich in other things besides money! :) i actually really wish the world still operated on a barter system... i know that sounds crazy, but i do. i could trade my stuff for things we need and there would not be a huge separation of classes.

Hey, I now know a 3/3 birthday girl! My son is 1/11, my niece is 2/22 and my nephew is 4/4. Now, to find the rest of the year! :D It's fun to learn more about you.

You go girl! I don't even think I can come up with 25 facts, period. How boring am I?!

Things we have in common...

I too, love Country music...classics not as much, but still like them.

I did not go to college...no regrets!

I RARELY drink and for pretty much the same reason...I do loves me the "foofoo" drinks though!

I will be 56 my next birthday...but I will gladly wait for you to catch up!

Now...not liking pizza? That's just plain insanity!

It was wonderful reading your list! And I'm with you on #15- we think exactly alike on that score. Thank you for sharing a different part of yourself with us!

I loved reading that! I've "known" you for years but most of that was new to me. ;)

Was fun reading your list of 25! We match up on many of them...'cept the reading and pizza. Ü

Have a great week!!!

I love that you've never regretted going to college. I on the other hand *have* often regretted going. Now, I struggle with the decision to save money for girls' college education. I paid my own way and was stuck in the debt until a few months before my oldest daughter was born. I loved being out of debt so I could be a full time mom... just wish it wouldn't have taken me until I was in my 30s to start having kids. The thought of kids + student debt paralyzed me to wait.

You are a smart lady! :)
