Introducing “Roadkill Rescue”

A site that I know you will love!

Are you familiar with the blog Infarrantly CREATIVE?

How about Knock Off Décor?
They are both blogs from Beckie Farrant.  As if Beckie doesn’t have enough on her plate blogging, and raising her family, she has put together another fantastic site that will be right up your alley!
Let me introduce you to Roadkill Rescue!   Some people may not know what that means, but I know YOU do!  Like me, I’m sure you have curbed something recently.  You know you have!  That little nightstand on the side of the road? Or how about your next door neighbor’s desk that became an important part of your wedding?  What is your technique?  Grab and go? Make the teen jump out while you are ready to put the pedal to the metal?  Call your mom to drive by and check it out?  Or are you the one that drags it home and hides it from the hubs?
Roadkill Rescue is a one stop shopping site. Beckie features great projects from around the blogosphere that are made of items that  have been saved from the local landfill.

My Repurposed Life has been featured a couple of times.  This toddler bed was made from a door that was unwanted.

I can’t believe I picked up this headboard from the curb.  It was in S.A.D. shape!

Beckie works hard scouring the internet so you don’t have to!  There are posts showing upholstery projects.

Cubby Wall Shelf
Check out this neat project using an old hutch top.

Barrister's Bookcase
It’s amazing what people can do with old bookshelves and cabinets.

Wondering what you can do with those vintage televisions that thrift stores won’t even accept?

Picture Frame Molding Butterfly Art
Beckie has a collection of recycled items, her mantra being  “One Man’s Trash is Another Woman’s Treasure.”

Be sure to hop over and check out Beckie’s newest site, Roadkill Rescue.  It really is chocked full of inspiration, something for everyone.  You can also find Roadkill Rescue on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.  Be sure to tell her gail sent ya! Smile

What have YOU curbed lately?

I love that you do this. Please don't stop. I is such a gift to us semi creative types. I especially love the title Roadkill. Of course I've picked up something off the side of the road...but usually I send my husband back with the truck. He once went for a walk and came home carrying a coffee table.

Never have seen anything left on the roadside around here, or maybe I just don't look hard enough!

Those are some great projects. I love the rescues. Esp. the headboard! I need to take a 2nd look at some of the roadkill rescues I have.

PS I have trained my children to scan the sides of the road as we drive for "junk". Sad, they think hauling things from ditches while dodging oncoming traffic is normal....

Another good post Gail. Roadkill in this case is a good thing. Recently my husband came home with an antique birdcage. Wooden with wire slates. Quite unique. Never know what you might find under your feet....that someone else thought was Roadkill.
