Chalkboard “days until” sign (Dremel Winner)

Let’s do the winner first, I’ve been so busy in the basement that I forgot to draw on Tuesday night. I did it on Wednesday morning.

Congrats to Melodiejoy!  I’ll be in touch.  Thank You Dremel for another great giveaway!

Now on with today’s post!

I LOVE easy peasy chalkboard signs!  I painted some 1x4’s with chalkboard paint. Then I designed my vinyl in my Silhouette program.   I love it when I can use the negative AND the positive from a vinyl piece.

I placed the vinyl cutout (which is actually contact paper in this case) on the painted board. I did a light coat of chalkboard paint over the entire surface so that there would not be any bleed.

Then I painted on a coat of blue.

On another one I painted on a coat of Martha’s Heavy Cream.

After I peel of the contact paper, this is what is left.

I believe this one is the actual vinyl (contact paper) not the paint.  It’s difficult to tell in the picture.   I think I like the ones that are painted versus the ones with the vinyl.  How about you?  Which would YOU prefer?  I’ve been so busy trying to get ready for Glendale.
The yard sale and the cleaning out the basement are definitely holding me back!  I want to be creative.   Smile

Drat! I didn't win. Congrats to Melodie, she's a lucky girl!
I'll just be keeping that dremel on my christmas list after all.
Love the days until sign, great idea! I can't tell the difference in the pics, but I think I would like the painted version better too.
