Are you familiar with The Bagster® bag from Waste Management? I’ve heard about it, and I’ve seen it at Home Depot but I never thought I would really need one myself. This is what it looks like:

After you fill it up, do you know what happens? You call the friendly people at Waste Management and they come pick it up:

When I was contacted for an opportunity to try out The Bagster® bag, I was THRILLED! Do you want to know why? Earlier this year I declared that this would be the year for me to declutter. I worked really hard cleaning out closets, and cupboards. Out of all the areas I cleaned out, I am happy to report that they still look really great! I set aside the month of July to clean out the basement. Well, July came and went and I didn’t get it done. Now, here it is the middle of September and I’m about to tackle that dreaded job.
Let’s have a little background information—I have lived in this house for nearly 36 years. The basement has never been used as a living area. I go down there a few times a week to do laundry and that’s about it. I have definitely held on to too much stuff as the years have passed. I’m a sentimental sap. As an adult I had only a few mementos from my childhood. That made me sad. As jamie outgrew toys, I couldn’t bring myself to get rid of them. I have agreed to let Missy and Bubba store things in the basement also. Uh oh, it sounds like I’m making a lot of excuses. I. have. a.
Here’s a little more info on this wonderful solution to YOUR problems!
- While households look for ways to save money, more homeowners are tackling projects themselves from bathroom remodels to flooring projects to spring cleaning. The Bagster® bag is an innovative, convenient and affordable solution for smaller home improvement projects.
- The Bagster® bag is a highly durable, woven bag designed for disposing as much as 3,300 pounds of debris and is big enough to hold full sheets of plywood, doors and even a bathtub.
- The Bagster® bag is a convenient choice for any home improvement project.

- Consumers can use the bag for as long as they like, then schedule a collection when the bag is full or their project is finished. The bag and collection service are always ready, putting consumers in control of their projects.
- Collection can be scheduled online at www.thebagster.comor by calling 1-877-789-2247, and Waste Management will collect the bag within three business days.
- The Bagster® bag is an affordable solution for homeowners and a great way to save money on do-it-yourself projects.

- Consumers can purchase the lightweight bag at more than 2,000 locations across the country, use it for as long as they like, then schedule a collection online or over the phone whenever they are ready.

I NEED this! (coming back to do all the entries in the am). I am a sap too...and I have only lived here for 6 years and have a long way to go...I need to change my ways...but I hear ya loud and clear. Every time I throw/donate/pass on a cute outfit or toy, my heart breaks a little...I remember who/what/where of the toy. I suppose it is because I have so little of anything from my family - my mom had nothing, and it makes me sad. OH man I sound a little sappy for sure!
I hadn't heard of this Bagster. Thanks for the info. I liked the Bagster on Facebook and shared the giveaway.
I am following the Bagster on Twitter and tweeted the giveaway
I have seen these advertised on the HGTV channel...I could use one of these for a little while!
I liked them on FB!
I have seen this before, and it looks really handy. If we can ever find the funds to remodel both bathrooms in our mobile home. I will get one of these for sure.
Sharon
Always thought this sounded too good to be true...I don't like piling up a ton of stuff at the curb. Saw the bags at my Lowe's...went online and sadly they don't have pickup in my area. Boohoo. Just sayin' :o} *e* Could still use the gift card....maybe bribe my trash truck guys with...let's see...Mountain Dews & Doritos??

We've lived in our house for 21 years, but judging from the junk we have collected, it looks more like 50.
We had the basement finished when we first moved here so the kids could use it as a play room. By the time they were out of elementary school it had become a repository of anything we couldn't make a decision about. Last week we finally got rid of a "Hoplite" shield made of plaster gauze that my now 26 year old son made for a project in 6th grade and a decorated hat my 23 year old daughter made for Crazy Hat day when she was in the second grade. I've never heard of Bagster before, but now I think I can't live without one.
OMG This is just what I NEED! Honestly my basement looks way worse than yours Gail! I've been wanting to get it cleanrd out for years.... but what to do with all the stuff!
Well, I don't know if the Bagster Bag Waste management folks would drive all this way--- to pickup my bag?
We have county wide cleanup every year around Mother's day weekend. I just stick to that.
Well, I try-- even with that, I still have tons of stuff that needs removal...
Bagster Bag is an interesting concept.
Pat
Oh--I would clean out my hubby's shed--Morton Building--and make room for my furniture painting!! How cool--thanks for sharing with us...you are always in the know!

Bagster is great - used one after a tree came down on my house at the beginning of the summer and had a lot of debris removal.
yahoo! fab giveaway! i tweeted about it from @rayanturner!
i am also cleaning out my life and de-cluttering! almost finished with the garage and my office/craft space and now on to the rest of the house!
If I had the Bagster bag I would be a decluttering fool. Starting in the house ...room by room then out to the barn. I really need to go through the stuff thats been stored in the top of the barn.
Wow! Good luck with your de-cluttering projects! We are moving so I'm de-cluttering as I pack...such.a.pain! I have SO much stuff and I don't want to get rid of any of it! haha, perhaps I'm a hoarder! I did pack at least FIVE boxes of craft supplies!! I like bagster bag on facebook. What a neat product/idea!!
I tweeted! Thanks for the opportunity Gail! https://twitter.com/#!/TheCraftMonkey/status/115796651112792065
I like you have too much stuff. I would totally use it to "clean house". I've been in my home for 20 years and it so needs a major purge.
Yard clean-up, for sure! I hate it when all the waste won't fit in my normal garbage and has to sit around in piles until the next pick-up.
I'll admit I'd never heard of them but who couldn't use something like this? When we bought our house the previous owners left a bunch of stuff in the basement, some useful like paint to touch up the walls and spare light bulbs, but a lot of it is junk we don't need. I should really get around to clearing it out.
I tweeted about the giveaway.
Gail,
Thanks for the intro to this cool idea...love it! I would clean out our storage room...it's a huge mess.
Blessings,
Linda

yowza. I need storage racks.
my in laws just moved into a retirement home so we have a lot of their stuff in boxes to go through.
our daughter moved to a smaller place with no storage so she is "keeping stuff in on a temporary basis"
right...temporary
Heather.foster@kp.org
I have a new grandbaby. I need to clear out the old storage room to make a play area/baby room. I get to take care of him one day a week and I want it to be the cutest area ever.
come help me!

If I had a bagster...wow, I could get rid of a BUNCH of stuff in my basement. (I feel your pain!) Things I haven't used for years, things that are damaged from the recent flood. All sorts of stuff that we're tossing out little by little. A bagster could make a dent!
If I had the bagster, I would clean out my attic. I haven't been up there in several years because I don't want to look at what's up there. I have remnants of several home improvement projects in my garage that could go. Along with some odds and ends in my basement. Yes, I'd be cleaning out all the holes that are there just to hold things!!
Oh what a great idea that is! If I had one of those I would go over to my parents house and clean out their garage. With or without their permission. hehehe :)
Oh but your stuff is so organized, {well at least what you showed us LOL}
Those bags are cool! I hadn't seen those before.
Candace Olsen from HGTV always seems to be designing a basement for someone, they can really add some great usable space to a house. I hear you though, it is hard to get rid of the mementos, I guess one from each year would be ok? That wouldn't take up too much space. Good luck on the cleanup!
I love this idea. It's the Gucci of trash bags.
I shared and friended on FB.
I have been wondering about these. How wonderful.
I have something better than Bagster...I have :BURN PILE: Its fun AND exciting all at the same time! 'Specially with alcohol...
*not entering*
Maybe if we had one of these, we'd feel forced to clean out the garage! It needs it so bad. Thanks for the giveaway.

I would get the bag for my mom's house and then, as an additional gift, spend a weekend helping her to fill it. My late stepfather lived there for 30+ years and died sort of suddenly a couple of years ago so a lot of "stuff" in the house has no value (sentimental or otherwise) to her. Thanks for the chance to win!!
While I don't think I could fill a bag myself I'm pretty sure that one of these would be a good idea for my parents house. Let's just say that 50 plus years of 'stuff' is a lot of stuff!
That sounds like such a big job, Gail! Good luck!
If I had a bagster, I'd start cleaning out two outbuildings on our farm. There's 3 generations worth of stuff out there.
Wow! That is just what I need to get my kitchen re-do underway. If I had a Bagster (or five) I would park it under my kitchen window and start pitching those stinky old built in place cabinets out board by board.
That looks like a bunch of good stuff you had. Why no yard sale?
Oh my this is coming at a great time! I was sick last week and watched a couple of episodes of Hoarders- It scares me to think I am becoming one and have made a commitment to start in the basement and start tossing!

VERY cool! I've never heard of this before. I liked and posted on Facebook! Thanks - this is an awesome giveaway!
Tweeted as well - although - I have no clue what I'm doing on twitter so I hope I did it right. By the way - TamiTMoreno and Everything.Beautiful are the same person :) Sorry for the confusion! Thanks again - this is GREAT!
I have a shed full of junk I need to get rid of! This would be perfect! Thanks!

I think now is the time to work on my sisters house project since she had alot of damage done by previous owners (animal, rain, leaks....) I say let's tackle a reno!!!
Well that thing would have been incredibly handy to have when we cleaned our our basement on Friday night. I still have things Id be willing to clean out though so next time I get the cleaning bug I might nab one of these to use...
I would love to have it so that we could clean our attic and have somewhere to pile all of our "junk" safely!
Love it! Declutter basement, garage, shed... : )
Oh, I need this to clean off my front porch. It's screened in & I've used it as the catch all when I bought my house last year.
I tweeted about it! @wackywhimsy
What a cool thing! I had never heard of bagster, and am so glad for the promotion to learn about it! If I call them, it's going to be to get rid of everything in the garage that is NOT a Halloween prop or a tool, and toss it out! ;)
I would give my grandmother a kick start on cleaning out her basement. She can't tackle the stairs anymore and there is over 50 years of stuff down there... very scary.
I would tear down and toss an old rotting shed in my backyard and make room for an herb garden!
I wish we had one of these before we moved. It would have saved a lot of time. They seem like a great idea.
ahhh...Bagster just screams Basement Makeover.
Ideally a home theater room, complete with wet bar and surround sound.
And an endless supply of movies.
Oh....easy answer! I would use it to clean out my basement. We moved in over 1 year ago and still have boxes down there...I'm thinking they need to go!
I had a pipe freeze last winter but of course didn't discover it until Spring when my husband turned on the sprinkler system. By the time we found it, my basement guest bedroom was flooded. The restoration company used Bagster to get rid of all the demo trash..ie wet drywall, insulation, carpet pad etc. I know they work. Now I have 1 organized room in the basement...would love another Bagster to inspire me to "organize" the rest! And Gail...you "disorganized" basement pictures doen't look so bad to me...:) Hope I win...MB
I have been wanting to demo the concrete path the front door, but have been uncertain where one puts the used concrete without getting a dumster. This is perfect!

It's time for the annual garage clean out so Mike can park in there for the winter. Yeah, that's what I would do! Thanks for hosting yet another awesome giveaway!

I am a new follower on FB of the Bagster Bag and also shared the link about this post on my FB wall!

have seen and heard small ads for this Bagster Bag previously, but this is the first full review I have seen. That thing is huge. Thank you for a great full review. I would love to have a couple of these bags to first use for a fundraiser to help fill and mail the care packages to soldiers and others going through hard times.(am presently doing this, but lack funding for mailing... right now have 4 boxes waiting for funds to mail them.) I would first use them to collect re-salable things from people that want to donate via de-cluttering their places. I would have them fill the bags with their "clutter" 2nd hand furniture etc. then I would host a yard sale day with the items... making some people trash, other peoples treasure! whatever is left over would go to the Bagster- waste management people to take away! Hopefully also raising enough money to pay for them to take it away!

If I had a bagster, I'd walk next door to my neighbor and give it to them so they can clean the "crap" out from between our garages. LOL There is about 2ft between the walls of our garages and in the course of two years they have filled it from ground to roof with "stuff".
