Back to School Teacher Gift

Earlier this summer my nephew got married to this lovely young lady:

25

2

They were married in Hawaii.  They are both teachers. Anna had some teacher gifts with Miss Snyder on them, but since she’s a newlywed, she didn’t have any personalized items for her new classroom.  She is teaching Kindergarten this year for the first time. I know she’s going to be an excellent teacher with the wee ones!

I had this huge block of wood. I painted the entire thing with chalkboard paint, with the exception of the top part where the name and apple are. I have disguised Anna’s  name to keep her anonymity.

back to school

She can write the date on it each day, and easily erase it the next day.   I used my Silhouette to do the lettering and the apple.  This was a quick and easy project, and the Mrs. LOVED it!

Want to know the kicker?  Our first day of school was supposed to be Monday the 15th. We had a bad storm over the weekend, and so many schools were without power that they had to delay the first day of school until Wednesday the 17th.

I hope your kiddos get back to school soon. I think we all do better when we’re in a routine.

That is a great gift. It's big enough the kiddos can't carry it off and as you say she can write the info on it each day. A very thoughtful gift. :)

That's a great gift. And, I know, these kids around here get off all the time, but, really, though, it is hard to have school with no electricity. This weather is too crazy! Have a great week, Gail!

What a cool gift! I don't think she could buy anything like that anywhere, either.

Congratulation to your nephew! He looks really happy.

What a GREAT couple your nephew and his lovely bride make. I wish them every happiness in the world.

I *LOVE* the teacher gift!! What a wonderful idea! It will make a great paper weight as well.

Tucson schools started Mon Aug 15th. Where my grandson lives in NV he will start Aug 22nd (they used to start after Labor Day there).

Have a GREAT day!

What a thoughtful gift that is! School here doesn't start until September, so the kiddos still have a bit of rest.
BTW, I finally picked up the paint brush again...Just little projects.
Have a great week!

That is a great idea! Perhaps she could assign a little helper to write out the day for her.
