Mint Julep June Jaunt Was Fun For All!

First, I would love to say thanks to all of my friends for your kind and encouraging words about my storm damage. I found them very comforting. I am unable to reply to each of you, but please know that I consider you all my friends, and appreciate your support!

Now, let’s talk about the Mint Julep June Jaunt!  Oh my gosh, it was a lot of work for MeganDVD and I to put together, but oh so worth it!  I enjoyed meeting new friends and seeing a few old friends again!  Becky from Infarrantly Creative had a blog Hop & Shop in the winter of 2010.  That is where I met MeganDVD and a few of these other ladies.

Peddlers Mall in Indiana.
This is the awesome Peddler’s Mall we visited! It is huge, nothing at all like the little Peddler’s that I used to frequent.  I think I did too much talking and not enough shopping.  I will definitely be visiting this store again. The ladies that work there are so friendly and nice.  They gave away a $25.00 gift certificate to one winner. That winner was Missy @ My Cottage Charm, Missy got a great looking watering can.  Missy also won a roll of Scotch Blue Painter’s tape, but asked me who had not won anything.  I let her draw a name from the non-winners. She picked Donna’s name and gave her the tape. That Missy… she’s so sweet that way!
Here we are at Peddler’s:
Mint Julep June Jaunt Gals! Bloggers Rock!
Katrina, Mallie, Jennifer, Beckie, Elaine, Joi, MeganDVD, Missy, Miranda, Cathy, Terri, Peggy
Cathy is my friend that helps me work on benches. She won a roll of Scotch Blue Painter’s tape.
I was lucky enough to meet MeganDVD, Peggy, and Shannon on Beckie’s blog Shop and Hop last year!  It was great to see them again!

Elisha, Beckie, and Missy shopping in the grocery aisles at Peddler’s.
Elisha is Missy’s friend and she won a $10 gift certificate at Salvation Army.  They were very nice ladies and gave us some background information on the wonderful things they do for their community. We no longer have Salvation Army stores in Louisville.

Goodwill in Indiana
Our second stop was Goodwill. That is Jennifer and Hollie walking in. Jennifer won a $25.00 Gift Certificate to Regalo and some Scotch Blue Painter’s Tape. Elaine also won some Scotch Blue!

We gathered in the lobby after some thrifting.

Terri from Creative Eyedieas finds a great lampshade
Terri got a cool lampshade!

Lynn's Paradise Cafe in Louisville Kentucky

We had lunch at Lynn’s Paradise Café. It was fun, but loud and crowded!  Smile

Carmel joined us late, she won an extra box of Gorilla Glue.  Mallie (right) is from DecoArt and she brought each of us a bag of goodies!

Megan DVD (Erin)
MeganDVD looking mighty fine after her recent surgery!

blogger gals!
Look at all of those orange boxes!
Gail, my repurposed life
One of my reader’s, Donna, was so thoughtful and brought us sweet sachets.  (Thank You Donna)  ps  ignore my 6 chins!

hahaha, are we a funny pair!
Here we all are at Regalo’s.  It was such a fun store and J.D. was generous by giving away a gift certificate and he also gave us a discount!  (Thanks MeganDVD for the picture!)
Donna, Mallie, Peggy, Jennifer, Elisha, Missy, Terri, Beckie, Cathy
Hollie, Joi, Carmel
Shannon, Gail, MeganDVD, Miranda, Elaine

After Regalo’s we went to Joe Ley’s antiques and Red Tree Furniture.  (I don’t have any pictures.  THIS blogger forgot her camera, we’ll blame it on the pouring rain on Saturday morning.  I was distracted.) Garwood and Jenny at Red Tree were so incredibly nice and friendly.  They have an awesome store, and handed out wine to those who wanted it, and gave each of us a gift bag!  I loved looking around at all the unique items and décor.

Some of these pictures were courtesy of Missy @ My Cottage Charm, others were taken with my phone.

Other winners:
Shannon @ Quarry Orchard won two gallons of Dutch Boy Refresh paint.
Miranda @ Just Drink A Coke won a nice gift pack from Shaklee provided by Sarah @ Three Boys
Mallie and Jessica won the Purdy Paint brushes!
Everyone received a Gorilla Glue box of LOTS of goodies and a can of Krylon Dual Spray Paint in addition to the goodies that Mallie brought us from DecoArt.  Carmel wrote me to say she’s already used her spray paint!  Smile

Be sure to check out other blogs for more great pictures and stories!  We’ll do it again…. someday   hahahah

I've been to 2 blogger get-togethers. One netted me some new friends north of here and one netted me a new son-in-law. Blogging pays! I think it is wonderful, and you sure made a nice arrangement. I wanted to make the trip, but am tied down here temporarily to the very thing that brings us all together, a DIY project. I hope next time....

Hey Gail!!! I know I've already told you thank you, but THANK YOU again for all the hard work and time you guys put into that day, I had a ball! It was so fun meeting and getting to know other bloggers from this area, what a fun day!
Oh, I was so happy to give away my painters tape...didn't think it was fair for me to have two prizes when there were people that didn't get any. :) I LOVED winning at Peddlers Mall, cause I've been wanting a watering can like that for a LONG time..I was so tickled! :)
Hope you have a great week and that your house gets fixed pronto!
love you much my sweet friend!

You cracked me up with the 6 chins comment! I was seriously laughing out loud! It was just the bad timing of taking the picture, you don't have 6 chins in any other of the pictures, you look beautiful. Looks like a lot of fun. going to go check out your video now.

Gail,
It was so nice to meet you Saturday, what a great get-together. Another big thank you to you and MeganDVD for all the hard work putting the MJ Jaunt together. I really look forward to hanging out with you guys again. By the way, not to be out done, I have a giant oak tree across my drive way !! I slept through that horrible storm, apparently exhausted from all the fun :) Hope your clean up is going well. E in TN (and so. IN)
