I’m hanging out at The DIY Club today! Hop on over to see how easy this birdhouse is to make CHEAP!
Materials needed:
- Scrap wood
- DecoArt Patio Paint (I used Tuscan Red & Sunshine Yellow)
- Gorilla Wood Glue
- Perch (I used an old cabinet pull)
Tools needed:
- Saw (I used a compound miter saw)
- Drill with hole saw & small bit (to install perch)
- Nailer (or finish nails)
- Paint Brush
I used these scrap pieces of lumber . . .
. . . . and some DecoArt Patio Paint :

The drawer pull is a super idea for a quaint perch. We have soooo many birds out by the house and I keep meaning to build a few houses for them....hopefully this summer :)
I'm a big fan of birdhouses. Love the way yours turned out. It looks like it has a face. The screws at the top are the eyes, the hole is the nose and the drawer pull is the mouth. Sorry, I don't think I've had enough sleep lately. I love the drawer pull as the perch! Nice use of scrap wood!
