While I was preparing the decorations for Jamie’s Bridal Shower I decided to take my Silhouette for a test run.

I typed the words I wanted “jamie loves andy”. To fill the spaces I added some hearts. The hearts are actually a font-webdings. I love using those fonts for simple images. You can see that I had to “mirror horizontally” so that when I did the iron on the letters would be right.

I pulled away all the negative pieces.

See? The letters are backward.

I picked out the oodles and boodles with a pair of tweezers.

I cut the letters apart so that I could iron them on my drop cloth bunting (triangles). I used Dritz Fray Check around the edges so that the material would not fray.

I placed a kitchen towel over the iron on and followed the directions on the package.

Voila!

Here is the bunting. But there seems to be an operator error. (Not silhouette’s fault) I used white transfer on drop cloth. My letters are not showing up well enough.

I used a Sharpie to trace around all the letters. I started with the hearts just in case it didn’t work right.

I strung the bunting together with twine.

I wanted it to be interchangeable. It can read Jamie Loves Andy or Andy Loves Jamie. Want to see it at the shower? Guess what! You can’t! I didn’t get to use it because there was no place to hang it. It ended up being too long and the clubhouse (as is generally the case) won’t let you do much to decorate. So you get to see it displayed on my privacy fence instead. ![]()
We had a beautiful weekend. If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you already know I was very busy! We are supposed to get rain and storms today. Gotta love Spring!

That looks so cute. outlining it with the sharpie was just the right touch. Hope you can use it somewhere!
It's really cute. Too bad you couldn't use it for the shower. Jamie can always hang it someplace in their home. You know how it is with decorating these days, anything goes. ;)
Totally precious! I hate those places that are down on decorations. Bah Humbug! Nonetheless, Jamie and Andy will cherish it forever. Great job!
Adorable! I hate that you couldn't actually use it...what a bummer! You crafters are making me want to get a Silhouette or Cricket...wonder if I can find one cheap??
That's so cute that it's a shame you didn't get to use it! Outlining the letters and hearts in sharpie made a big difference.
Maybe they'll want it for their dining room or something!
that looks great! i love the use of a drop cloth for it. awesome!
Sharpies are like duct tape, they fix everything ;)
I was working on a image for freezer paper stenciling the other day. I had made the letters curve in an oval image but when I mirrored horizontally it would put them on the underside of the oval. I tried all different mirrorings (that's my special word) and couldn't get it to flip right. You haven't by chance tried that?

Hi Stefanie!
:) sharpies/duct tape! You are SO right!
Did you try "sending the text to the back" or Bringing the oval "forward"
those may not be the exact terms, but it seems like it's a layering issue. Let me know if that's totally off base of what you were asking.

For anyone else who may have trouble, Stefanie and I figured out after many emails back and forth. The key is to "ungroup" before you mirror. Shoot me an email if you get stuck!

Bummer that you couldn't use it! I wonder if you could use it to decorate the car after the wedding!
I loved your fancy schmancy laptop now too. She looks so pretty now.
It is fabulous...It looks fab on your fence too! I actually like the shadow/outline around it. What a sweet project for your sweet girl (lady!).
I'll bet it would look so cute in their room!
BTW, I wanted to thank you for fixing my link for your party last week! I was going through a name change, and it must have gotten mixed up. It was just so thoughtful of you to take the time to do that!
Kim :)
Love it! I can't believe you didn't get to use it at the shower...but it did turn out great!!
