Regular readers know that I like to “test drive” things, just to make sure I’m going to like them. If you look in the foreground you will see a VERY large side base that I built to put next to the media center base. Yeah, that didn’t work out too well. It was gynormous! I am going to use it in the garage to hold my compound miter saw I got for Christmas. I made the smaller bases and placed them on either side to make sure they weren’t going to take up too much room.
The sun came out over the weekend! It was downright warm working outside. I even had to change out of my tennis shoes into flip flops. I was able to get a coat of primer and a coat of semi-gloss on all 4 pieces.
This is what my goal has been all along. It’s just been a long time coming.
I have no idea how I am going to accessorize all those shelves yet.
It’s so pretty! I’m so happy with how it all turned out. Oh yeah, the doors on the side bases, they’re just leaning. I haven’t been out to get the hinges yet. This media center started out to be a PB knockoff. I’m not sure if you would consider it a knock off now. I made a lot of changes, mostly with the dimensions. But I owe a big Thank You to Ana of Knockoffwood. I would never have attempted to make something like this had I not seen her plans. If you haven’t checked out her site, you really should.
Just a reminder of what this spot looked like Summer 2009. Big difference? Yeppers! I am liking the new look a LOT!
Okay, now a little tease about my upcoming giveaway. Next Wednesday is my birthday, what better way to celebrate than to give away something really fabulous. I don’t actually have it in my hot little hands yet, I expect it to arrive by FedEx today or tomorrow. All I can say is, it is going to be hard to let go of.

You worked hard to make your dreams come true. Great job. The simple lines and white paint are stunning. Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
you did a really, really nice job. Congrats on it and the fireplace.
This is fabulous! Can I ask about your wall clock? I couldn't help but notice it and it looks so nice with your Media Center....I'm thinking my sister would absolutely LOVE something like this on her living room wall....Thank you!
thanks for the kind words! Ya'll are so sweet.
Sheila, the clock was purchased at Joann's for $13.00 on sale. The regular price is around $20.00

I love it! The clock fits perfectly. You must feel so accomplished! I love Ana's blog and hope to do something of her's someday.
Love it, and the clock works perfectly there!

ohhh, too cute! I think baskets would look nice in your towers. Just my humble opinion. :)
I LOVE the cabinet you made out of the old window! I LOVE vintage windows. :) You do great work!
FANTASTIC! That really looks great. I agree that baskets would be great on the shelves. And maybe some vintage books as well.
I found Knockoffwood a few weeks ago and just love what she does. Come summer I'm planning on using a few of her plans myself.
Great transformation! You must be proud!
Looks great! The wall clock is super cool!!~~~
It looks great - what a change! :)
Yes, my fireplace makes me smile every time I look at it! :) Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog...I never know who's reading it unless they leave a comment...makes me curious as a cat! LOL
I'll have to look closer at your cabinets with the windows...I have several old windows just aching to have something done to them! :)
Be blessed!
What a transformation you made on that whole room! If I were you I'd be sitting in there for hours on end with the tv off, just looking around and enjoying your new space that YOU made all by yourself. It is all so beautiful. Seriously Gail, you say you're not a decorator, but you sure could've fooled me on this one.
Congrats on all of it.
Rose
What a great project with outstanding results from lots of hard work!
Media center looks amazing! Thanks for sharing this. I love the towers on each side of the tv. Very pretty.
Love the new look...and that flat screen :)! Seriously though you have done a fabulous job and I can't wait to see the shelves decorated!

LOVE it! And I love your huge clock too - that is awesome!!! Nice job.
That is simply amazing Gail! What a die hard DIY'er you are....I'm just a wee bit jealous :)
I'm trying to get caught up on my blog reader since my vacation...you know how that goes!
It looks wonderful. I'm envious that you mastered your miter saw. I couldn't figure out how to turn ours on :(.
It turned out beautifully! I love the modified version. How long do you think it took to complete it all? (and btw, the clock is very cool!)
If you still have the armoire hanging out in the garage I just found some neat ideas this morning for what to do with them here: http://www.diyideas.com/roombyroom/StorageSpaces/armoire-makeovers_ss1.html I can't decide what to do with mine yet.
Great job! Thanks for linkin' up to the Power of Paint!
I'm so green with envy right now!:) This looks great! What a nice job you did! Wanna build one for me?
Take care!
:)Nicole
What a wonderful job!
I like the new space too.
Great job on creating your own. This living space is coming along so well.
I've been watching you transform this room and it gives me insight to know that is ok to take your time with a room. We're not all 'Designed to Sell' w/ two days to work ...are we?
We have our whole lives to make our homes beautiful.
Great work and thanks for visiting my blog.
Looks great Gail! Love the shelves.
I love this clock! I need something exactly like it for my kitchen so I hope I can find it at JoAnn's still!
